Beautiful rifle North country gal! I had my dealer put one on a wish list on Friday. Hopefully there are a few more in the pipeline - crossed fingers.

Big fan of .44, but I just got the Winchester 1885 or I would have had to have a #1 let us know how it prints.

Received an email from Jason @ Lipsey's: he said they received 209 of the .44 Magnum, didn't know if they'd receive any on top of that.

Also, as to Circassian walnut stocked No. 1s, he said they sometimes show up with this wood, not necessarily a special run or anything.

As stated a couple of posts above, I placed one of these on a wish list on Monday March 6th with my dealer. I went back the next Friday to see if they could get more information from Lipsey's about availability because I was concerned I would miss out on one of these. My dealer called Lipsey's and the rep said he didn't know when, or even if, more would be available. Not good! After talking to my dealer she said my best bet at this point would probably be to get it from an auction site. I went home to start looking online but decided to call Lipsey's myself to see if they could tell me of any dealers in my state who may have taken delivery of one or two of these, with the idea of just driving to go get it. After searching for a few minutes the gentleman from Lipsey's found one dealer a couple of hours away who had one, which I thought was good. Then he said "let me check something...I may be able to shake one loose." I had no idea what that meant but after a brief pause he came back and said "it's on it's way to your dealer." I thanked him profusely and we hung up. Thirty seconds later, no joke, my dealer called me and said a no.1 in 44 was on its way. I picked it up the next Tuesday. Apparently a dealer somewhere wouldn't commit to it and they had been holding it for him for a couple of weeks. I guess I was a showing a little more commitment. Like North country gal, I am thrilled! This is, again like her, my first no.1 rifle. The wood is a tad plain on my example but I couldn't care less because I am just happy to have one. I took it to the indoor range last week and was very pleased with the handling and accuracy. Hope to get it to the outdoor range this week to really ring it out and get some pics. This rifle is just plain fun and it would be a shame if Ruger chooses to discontinue it. Now to decide the next caliber...

I know where I can get one, but at 1550 it's a little out of my budget, unfortunately.

My 30-06 International is my all time favorite.
To the point that I am done with pursuing another rifle.....unless a .22 LR No.1 International were to be produced.

Nice report on your .44 North Country Gal.

Ruger #1 is a grail gun for me but the price will keep me from buying one. I've passed up on two in years past, a 444 and a 6mm. Shouldn't have. Each were in the $650 range.
Good luck with those 44s. I do get to shoot my Nephews 45-70 sometimes.
