Reading on these pages, it appears that the heavy barreled varmint configuration is not as popular/valuable as the lighter guns. I think the heavy barrel and forend look great with the single shot action. Seems more like a target or buffalo hunter look. Unfortunately, too bad the No. 1 is not the consistent tack driver as a bolt rifle. I once had a .220 swift varmint No. 1 with a Burris Signature target scope. Another "why did I trade that" story!
If you look at the three, the top one is chambered in .280 Rem, the middle one is 6mm, and the bottom in .223

Last time I was in Green Mountain Guns in Denver, they had probably 20 of them from a guy who was selling off his collection. If you ever get up this way, you might check them out.

Nice looking rifles you have there. My only Number One is a 45/70.

My dreams of late have been haunted by a certain Super Blackhawk in .480 Ruger...

My train of thought keeps getting derailed by visions of that darn Gunsite Scout in .450 Bushmaster...

My work at times goes askew due to sudden flashes of Vaquero birdies on the wing...

Naaaaah! I aint got no problem other than a frequent shortage of disposable cash!
