2016 #1V .243 varminter

Saw one today with better than average wood. Didn't know they made it in that model, thought it was the 1B in 2016. Is it rare or worth buying?

Great model, great caliber, great wood on a classic rifle,

its worth buying regardless of rarity!

The reason for my question is that the 1V model in .243 isn't a 2016 chambering looking at the website. Was wondering if it was a real short run. Not sure if the .243 is common in the 1V.

021:

I suspect you will need to go back a bit further than 2016 to find the 243 in a 1V

If memory serves me there was a time back in the good old days (perhaps around the 80's or so) when that was a regular in the 1V. I may well be wrong on the date but it was offered back in the day.

That was the 2016 offering and no it's not rare. There are plenty of them for sale on the auction sites right now for under $900. The best deal I've seen was a BUY NOW for $799.

These new ones have a 26" barrel and I believe a fast twist for heavier bullets; they should be very accurate rifles.
The early '80s run of 1V 243 are rare and command collector prices (or used to). I've had a couple of them, but sold them to people who wanted them more than I did

Thanks. I was thinking the 2016 was a 1 B, not a 1V and I seemed to remember the earlier .243 was kind of collectable. I'll keep looking for a 300 H and H instead.

I just bought a new 1V 243 in November last year. It was through Lipsey's as a distributor exclusive. They had a few other calibers and models of No 1's available when I ordered mine. They come with a heavy barrel and 1:7.7 twist. Should be a good shooter. I'm still waiting to get mine out and broke in.
