And then there was two!

The second of the two No. 1's that I purchased arrived just a couple of days ago. This one has me scratching my head a bit. The S/N dates it to 1982, but there is no warning wording on the barrel, which would make it pre '77, wouldn't it? The muzzle has been re-crowned, and I had a gunsmith friend of mine look at it and he says that they did a great job. The barrel is a heavy and is just shy of 24" in length.

Did I buy a Frankenruger? Regardless, I am very happy with the guns and I am proud to show them off! The top gun is the 1A in .280, and the bottom is, I believe, a 1V in 6mm.

I am busting with eagerness to hit the range, but the darn weather here is just not gonna let it happen. Too cold, too snowy/rainy. Soon though... very soon I will put them through their paces!

I'm happy to say that I have reached the point where if I were to put all of my guns on the dining room table some would fall off. Time for a bigger table...

Interestingly, there is a warning on the barrel of the 6mm, but it is written in a very small font.

With all the talk of Ruger discontinuing the line I wouldn't wait too long. I've already seen the price of a good No. 1 in a standard caliber begin to rise. A person could have snapped up a decent No. 1 in .223 a few months ago at a decent price (less than a grand), but now you are lucky to get one for anything below $1200.
