Talking I'm going to do it !

Getting ready to purchase a NO.1 RSI in 270 and have the barrel changed to 308. I know Ruger has a stainless in 308, but I am not a fan of stainless. So I will have New England Custom guns do the work. Will try and post some pics before and after. This is my retirement gift to me.

Good for you. Be aware they are like expensive potato chips, you can't have just one.

The battle cry becomes "I have one more than I need but, one less than I want."

BLKHAWK73, This gunsmith has done work for me before and I can drive to him to drop off my rifle. He corrected a bad trigger job from another gunsmith and made my Ruger M77 MK II a pleasure to shoot. They also worked on my Grandfathers H&H 20 bore shotgun. Very pleased with their work.

Nice! I've had a donor rifle here for a few years and when I figured it was time, could;t get a hold of him. Emails never got answered and time here vs time there when I could actually call seldom coincided. Is he still up and going?? Would really love to get this one here done.

308 blued RSI was something Ruger should have done. I am looking forward to the

rocdoc, I have pestered Ruger for years on this and every NewYears I would call customer service and request it. They kept telling me to be on the lookout in the near further it would happen. I just laughed and said you told me that 6 years ago. Oh well I will be having fun with my new rifle. I can't wait till i have it.

Well my wife told me this morning that I should not stop my project for a NO. 1 rifle. I really was amazed since she has her medical issues. So, I will begin my search again and start things rolling. However I will go slow and after the purchase just shoot the gun and take things from there. Christmas has come early.

I definitely agree with James, I've been looking for a No.1 in .270 for what seems forever at a reasonable price.

Talking Looks like I am going to buy a New Ruger RSI in 308 Win.

Wife and I had a long talk and went over what I wanted to do, she told me just buy the model you want and I will buy the scope. Think of all the money you will save. i told I felt bad about it. She said at 70 years old have some fun and go for it. We have a Doc's appointment this Thursday, I hope all is going well for her.
