Since I first heard about it a few weeks ago I've been to two local gun shops asking if they could get it. Both said Lipsey's shows "out of stock" which I take to mean they haven't gotten them yet. On the "wish list" for when they do become available which I guess will be around the end of the year hopefully. Sure would like to know more information about how many and when. Also saw on another post that a KRSI may be better looking with a grey laminate stock vs walnut. I would tend to agree but will take a no. 1 International in .308 in any configuration. Below is Lipsey's website:

I've seen over on the other Ruger Forum about wishes for the K1RSI in laminate, I wanted walnut for my first preference, but would get one in laminate as well. My dealer only has 3 of the 2016 offerings so far, haven't yet seen the 44 S, or the Rigby A any place.

Welp, my fear is we won't be able to get it for this years deer season (maybe for anterless in Jan 2017) so will still take out my Ruger M77 RL in .308. Comforting to know they're coming though after years of waiting.

Yep, I was surprised yesterday when I came home and saw one so placed a bid and actually won!!! Didn't think it would be this early. Also saw one here:

https://www.gunsamerica.com/98696674...6676113989.htm

Now to find a scope?? Debating on getting black, matte or silver scope. From what I've seen not to many silver scopes out there and wonder if the colors will actually match or would they be shades off? Also what color offset rings from ruger to get? The 4BO standard or stainless? Any suggestions or input would help.

In a single shot the 308 makes no sense as cartridge length makes no difference. I have a 30-06 in #1s.

Yep, I see your point. I don't understand why Ruger makes the No. 1 in varmint calibers either? If I remember correctly it was designed as a medium game hunting rifle for short/medium range. Why try to do long range accuracy shots in a two piece stock when the design of the single stock bolt action lends itself to better accuracy? In the end I guess its because customers ask for it and it sells.

Have you received your rifle yet? Heard that they won't show up to Lipseys until October. I'd go with a VX 3 of some variety in SS. I like the smaller magnification scopes on the RSI rifles. Don't forger the Leopold custom shop if you need something special.

Yep Rocdoc, came in from seller on Gunbroker (BW Outfitters in IA) and picked it up at FFL last week. Unboxed and found it comes with standard 4B stainless rings. Have a Burris Timberline 4.5 - 12 x 32 I originally purchased for my Ruger M77 RL but wound up putting my Pentax back on it. So have it mounted on the K1RSI for now to take it to the range. Had reservations about blue Timberline clearing the sights and still getting eye relief with the rings provided but think it will work out well as the rear tube is noticeably longer and gets the rear objective far enough back that I won't have to buy the pricey 4BO rings from Ruger like I did with my No. 1 RSI in .270 (which has a Leupold 2-7 on it). Looks butt ugly having a blue scope with stainless rings and may switch in up later. I was considering the Leupold Ultralight but feared it may be for rimfire only so called Leupold and rep told me the Ultralight would take the .308 recoil just fine. Options are good. Its dried up enough now from our rains last weekend to get down the dirt roads to the range so may give range report later. Today is last day for Dove at Twin Buttes as Archery season starts tomorrow so gotta get a few more before season ends.

Show a pic when you get a chance, all I've seen are the Ruger stock photos. Guess what I heard is wrong about October delivery to Lipseys since you got one already.

I'm not tech savy enough to upload pics but if you text 325-656-2509, I can reply with a couple of pics. Wasn't able to get it sighted in today at gun club but will try again this week.
