Availaability of the Scarce Ruger No.1-308

Trying to build up my collection and need to find a No.1 in 308. I've searched in several areas but haven't had any luck. Would appreciate any leads to finding one.
Thanks all.

I am stunned. I did a search on every site where I usually look for rifle sales and did not find a single one. All I can suggest is find a Ruger No. 1 for sale in some other 30 (such as 30-06) and have it re-chambered to 308.

Regan Nonneman has a business doing exactly that. He can re-chamber a barrel or completely replace the barrel. I had him convert a Ruger No. 1A in 222 Rem. to a Ruger No. 1V in 222 Rem, by replacing my barrel and forearm. The total cost to me was $475. I would expect a re-chambering to cost a lot less. Here is a link to him:

Ruger No. 1

If you can afford it, I suggest a complete new barrel. The great thing about Ruger No. 1 rifles is the action is the same, with only the barrel, scope mounts and forearm being the difference between one model and the next. Now I am thinking of sending mine back to be re-chambered to 22 PPC. Why? If you have to ask...

Well, since my first post, I'd like to report my collection is up to 10 Ruger No. 1"s. I was able to get one of the No.1's in 308-newer 2015 I think versions. Wood is not very impressive but I have a 308. Went to the range yesterday and was very impressed with several of my rifles. Best shooters-25-06, 30-30 & 30-06. The 35 Whelen was in there as well. Not impressed with the 45-70. Couldn't get it to group.

Look forward to posting more in the near future.

Have saved to favorites several online gun auction sites. Guns international seems to carry the most Ruger No. 1s that I've found so far. Here's the links to the sites.

And Ruger just announced the new 2016 Ruger No. 1 International in .308 that I'm awaiting availability for. Hope this helps and good luck in your quest.

I am looking at the new Ruger/Lipsey .308 also. I would like a No. 1 in 308 to go with my SR-762. Here is a No. in 30-06 but 308 would be ideal.

in a single shot where cartridge length is not a factor I would get a 30--06 like I have.

I've tried contacting Nonneman recently for a rebarreling but nothing. Is he still operating?
