No. 1S 300 H&H

Hello, I picked up a no.1s in 300 H&H last year . I have read that these may be pretty rare in this caliber,
The serial # dates it to 1990.
Can anyone shed a little more light on what I have?

My reference guide lists a "reported" 65 1-S's made in 1990. The serial number range was: 132-88866 through 132-89460. There is also a note that this combination was slated for regular production in 2010.

Hope this helps.
BTW, welcome to the forum...it's a great place to hang out!

Yes, it was a production chambering a few years back. At the time I was told they intended for 300 to be done. Not sure how that ended up. I know where 2 are.

Bought a .300 H&H a couple years ago new. Has turned out to be my most accurate hunting rifle. Second hand load I tried with IMR 4350 and 180 gr Nosler Accubonds produces 5/8" groups. I love that gun. Charlie

Hello All,
Just got one of these 300 H&H with box from the 1990 run of 65. Has nice wood and is 99%. Would anyone one know if this would have any collector value or is just a every day average #1. I plan on shooting it, just curious.
Thank you !
james

It can indeed have desirability to the right person. Of course condition is a HUGE factor and having correct box, etc adds desirability as well. I'd say you did good!

That should carry a 20% premium over 300 win mag.
