KBNVBH-453, Model 0510. This is the "original" Vaquero built on the Blackhawk frame size, 45 Colt, 3 5/8" barrel so technically 1/8" shorter than the New Vaquero version.

My two birds

Would love to have the cylinder rollmarking removed, fluted, and BP camfer on the shopkeep'. Also a set of black/grey laminate grips.

Make it a true mini-me.

Very nice gun. Revolvers liek that immediately make me think of /val Kilmer as Doc Holliday.

I don't own a birdshead Ruger, but I do enjoy looking at them. I do think they'd be a great carry gun.
Thanks for sharing.

Here's one for the historical record. I do not own this gun (but I wish I did) and found it thanks to Rod Teague's excellent thread on his "Birdshead to Boar's Head" conversion. This is a Merwin Hulbert from the 1880s with the "skull crusher" birdshead grip. The gun is a 1st Model Single Action Army in 44-40. This gun is presently up for auction and I think Quiet1 would do well to add it to his collection....(opening bid is $9,295.00).

Cool picture - nice set! If you could pull off those mods that would be a real sweet Bearcat and a true one-of-a-kind. I love seeing guys make these things their own. Good luck!
