I have the Single Ten and it is the most accurate revolver I've ver owned. For those of you who don't like the sights, you can always replace them with Single Six adjustable sights, but you might not want to do that once you've tried those Single Ten sights. They work great.
As to the Single Nine, if it proves to be as accurate as my Single Ten, I'd be tempted, but 1) as I'm primarily a range and target shooter, I have no particular use for the 22 Mag and 2) I'm afraid I could not keep a nine shot 22 Mag fed, given the price of 22 Mags. The 22 mag is a great cartridge out of a revolver, just not a logical choice for me. On the other hand, what the heck does logic have to do with buying another gun? I've done nuttier things.

I'll keep my single six convertable, although the single ten has me interested. The ammo for the 22 mag costs too much compared to regular 22.
I can't believe that they are introducing new guns when they can't meet the demand on the last two years new introductions. I am still trying to find a new sp101 in .22.
I think Ruger needs to get on the ball, and make more 1911's, sp101's etc before dedicating labor and resources to new projects.

I have held a Single Ten on a few occasions and I love the grips on them. They seem to fill my hand much better than the grips on my Single Six. Does anyone know if these so called "gunfighter" grips on the Single Ten and Nine are any different and if they will fit on a single six. If they will fit on my single six I'll be ordering a pair from Ruger very soon.

I wound have liked a convertible, even if 9 rounds for both cylinders. It would help even the price of both rounds. I do like 22MAG, they are fun. But, they are a little pricey.
So, does this mean an SP101 or LCR in 22 MAG would be 7 rounds instead of 8?

Got the same email announcing the Single-Nine and knew what it was before I even opened it... I am wondering if Ruger decided not to make their new SA rimfire revolvers convertible due to the many accuracy problems that have been reported when shooting .22 Long Rifle in the dual cylinder guns.
I've had several dual cylinder Single-Sixs and the Long Rifle ammo never shot well whereas the .22 Magnums were tack-drivers. I remember the first Single-Six convertible I shot back in the 1970s...it was my best friends. The gun would shoot ragged one hole groups with Magnums and scatter Long Rifles... I've had two 4 5/8" SSs that did the same. I now have a Star marked 4 5/8" stainless SS that is a single cylinder gun that shoots as well as any .22 revolver I have ever owned.
The other SS I own is a Hunter...a tack-driver with Magnums and actually pretty accurate also with Long Rifle.
With the extra inch of barrel and instant on/off scope capability I will probably stay with this rather than a Single-Nine...
...what I wish is that Ruger would make the SP101 Target in .22 Magnum. I asked them about it at the SHOT Show and they said it was a no-go due to stiff ejection problems...

My guess: Next year sometime, after Ruger has sold a bunch of Single Tens and this new Single Nine, you will see a "Single Ten / Nine Convertible" offered and shortly thereafter the individual Ten and Nine models will fade away.
Isn't that the way the Single Six .22LR and the Single Six .22 Magnum revolvers were introduced "way-back-when" before the Single Six Convertible was introduced?

The ST grip has a metal spacer that slips over the screw to keep from cracking the grip if the screw is overtightened, and also uses a diffenert screw length than the SS grip. Make sure when ordering, you tell Ruger you need these parts also.

Im not sure how I feel about the S9. I have a Single Ten, and 2 Single Six convertibles. I wouldnt be interested in a 22 Mag dedicated gun. I think the logical step would be to offer the Single Nine in a convertible. It would sell very well in that configuration. I dont see Ruger selling anywhere near as many S9 22 Mag only guns, as they do Single Tens, or Single Sixes. And Ruger, if you are listening... when you eventually do offer a Single Nine convertible... DONT discontinue the Single Six !!

I have removed the grips from my Single 10 and my Single Six and replaced them both with the same grips that Ruger puts on the 4.6" SBH. They have a much better hand filling feel than the skinny grips.

I think if Ruger offered the SP101 in 22 Magnum with a short barrel (2 1/4 or 3") it would sell pretty well. I agree a convertible single 9/10 would probably sell well too, but I have doubts about the Single Nine selling as well as other "Single" guns. Still nice to see Ruger coming out with more models.

Should be a very accurate and powerful 9 shot rImfire. I definitely must have on of these to balance out my two piece rImfire buscadero rig. Excellent for us citizen border patrollers.

I thought that the Single Ten was kinda dumb (for my likings so don't take my opinion seriously.) I didn't like the idea of a single action with ten rounds. Again just my opinion, nothing more. But now one with nine?!?! I'm sorry Ruger but it just seems like kind of a dorky idea to me. That just seems like a weird number to stop at. I understand the limitations of a cylinder that small, but nine?? This will not be in my gunsafe, unless of coarse, if Ruger wants to send me one to try and change my mind
High five for anybody else's cylinder that stops at six!

| Ruger Single Nine???
Ok. So why does Ruger keep coming out with new guns, when they can't keep up with the demand for the existing catalog? Single Nine? Exactly what un-filled niche did that fill? What's next? Single eight? Single eleven? |

| Saw Single Nine today!
I handled the Ruger Single Nine today -- a 9-shooter for 22WMR. Anyone actually own and shoot one of these? Very tempting!! Thoughts?
