| New 45 colt/ 45ACP
I just got my new Ruger Bisley 45 Colt /45ACP from the dealer today. Took it to the range and ran some Remington 45ACP 200 gr plated bullets thru it. At 20 yrds not too bad. I loaded some 250 gr Missouri bullets with 4.8 gr Trailboss. Much better 2" groups at 20yrds. Then I tried some 5.3 gr Trailboss and had ragged 1 1/2-2" groups. Excellent results. Very Happy and no leading. Seems that the cylinders are fine with both the 45 Colt and 45ACP. I am very happy with this and now I see what all the fuss is about with the 45 Colt. Thanks for your time.

Every ruger blackhawk in 45 colt I have had has always shot better with heavier or heavier and faster bullets. My 34 year old new model blackhawk in 45 colt 71/2 inch shoots best with 300 grain or heavier bullets at over 1100 fps. Recoil is there but doable.

I have owned 3 45C/45acp Blackhawks. My 3rd I have owned for 3 weeks. It is an older NM Blackhawk.
For the first time ever I have shot 45acp thru a Blackhawk.

I am using Missouri 200 swc Bullseye for my 45Acp/45Colt Lipseys with 3.8 grs of Bullseye. It's shoots well and has a light recoil. For the 45 Colt I am shooting 255 Keiths style from Missouri Bullets with 8.5 of Unique. This will be my deer hunting load. I tried Trail Boss and it worked well also. However I had to switch over to the rifle powder rotor for my LNL to get it to weigh consistantly. You can use the heaver Colt loads with your Bisley.
