Nice looking revolver. Your hammer looks to be factory however "jeweled" by a creative previous owner. Great find and welcome to the forum.

Nice...

Someone 'Jeweled' the hammer, and changed the grip frame to a blued steel 'Dragoon' style...

Super Blackhawk?

Hmmm...

Welcome from Nj where the government hates your guns. Nice revolver but I prefer new models for the xr3 red grip frame to me far more comfortable than colt style.

ok so after some fidling I have some questions
the hammer sometimes stick about a quater inch from where it's supposed to at rest when actuated by hand
Also when half cocked I can push the hammer and it will release.

Any thoughts? I am pretty mechanically inclined and work on my other guns. So i will e taking this one apart to clean when I do I will post pics of the parts

Someone may have put the 1/2 cock kit in it to make it function more like a Colt.

I thought the three screw Rugers always had the half cock. At any rate, that's dangerous, and should be looked at by a gunsmith.

They do till they are converted, and the OP said this has not been, so yeah...

Something is not right and you need to have it looked at...

I've never changed my Old Model 45 Colt Blackhawk over either, I just have the common sense to know the hammer goes down on an empty chamber. Just like a Colt SAA or the like. As such it's not the least bit dangerous and I only allow other's to shoot it under close supervision. By the way Oz Man, you've got yourself a fine looking Blackhawk, if you were here in the State's I'd try to trade you out of it :-)=.
