We were in our local gun shop and my wife handled a used Bearcat ($325). She liked it so much we have a new one, blue on order. We should get it Wednesday.
Sweet little pistol.

Bearcats are off the scale on the cute factor. I know, I know, a guy wouldn't usually put it that way, but we gals find them hard to resist.

I have two of them. Really fun to shoot.
The old model my dad had was the first pistol I shot as a kid.

Good for you. i've only seen pics of the brass model, but it does look very nice. I'd jump on one if I found one, too.

gal, cute is putting it mildly......
I put off getting one for over 30yrs.....each time I would
rationalize that I could get a 'bigger' gun, a real gun,
for the same price,......and my hands are big........
Dumbassedness on my part !!!!!!!!!!!!!
The 'brass' models are beautiful. The stainless are awesome.
Ruger even made about 1000 in a convertible with the magnum
cylinder, although they now claim they didn't. Ruger had complaints
on that model, issued a recall on the magnum cylinder, and paid $40
to you if you sent it in.
I finally bought a used, unfired blue one, box and all, [$339]
that also magically appeared at my LGS........
IT IS SO CUTE !!!!! I never go to the range without it, no matter
what else me and MamaOzo are shooting that day.....BearCat goes too !!
She also lives on my desk, within reach, and I hug her each and every day.
I don't know now how I ever got along without her.
Sweet and balanced, and my hand gobbles her half up......but she is
sooo much fun !!!!!

Is there another Bearcat in my future, now that i own one? Oh, yeah and make that more like another two or three.
For anyone dismissing the Bearcat out of hand as only being a cute gun, let me also add that mine is an intrinsically accurate little gun. It's very tight and precisely made and by throwing the book out as to how to grip and hold a pistol, I've managed to find ways to hold it that brings out a bit of that accuracy. It ain't easy compared to a larger revolver with good sights, but the accuracy in a Bearcat is there if you can manage to find it. In other words, it doesn't have to be just a cute little gun (which it sure as heck is. )

As to how I am currently shooting mine, I squeeze the front of the trigger guard between my thumb and index finger of the left hand, firmly, as if I had the gun in a clamp and instead of extending my arms out, fully, as I would with a larger pistol or revolver, I hold the Bearcat closer, about half the distance of my normal stance (be sure to use hearing protection), so that I can see the sights better. This is still a work in progress, but at this point, I think it is important to lock up pretty tight in your grip and stance to compensate for the gun's small size and light weight. Definitely different than the more traditional hold I use with my Single Ten or other single actions.

Yeah....not only tight and smooth,
but absolutely the finest, most comfortable
hammer spur on any revolver I have ever held.
I wish all spurs were like it...comparably.

The only thing that might deter me is the size of the grip frame.
I have large hands, hence I chose a Bisley grip frame on my Vaquero.

Took the Bearcat to the range, today, for more work, along with the Single Ten and some other guns. Shooting 1" black stick on dots from 50 feet, off a bag. With the Single Ten, more hits than misses, but still managed to hit the dots with the Bearcat at least twice out of six shots and, once, even four shots out of six. The "little jewel" of a Ruger can shoot! Love my Bearcat.
