Is your reference to a "3 screw Flat Top Ruger in .41 magnum" a typo and you meant to say .44 Magnum? The "3 screw Flat Tops" were only made in .357 and .44 Magnum calibers. The .41 Magnum Blackhawks were produced after Ruger updated the frame design from "Flat Top" to the "Hooded Rear Sight" type. |
This I did not know. I've always liked Ruger firearms, but, obviously my knowledge base needs some work. That .41 Magnum was my dad's favorite firearm. He was a collector of sorts...nothing real expensive and no "sets" of any group of firearms. He restored 5 WWI & WWII rifles, probably ruining any collector value they had. But, he enjoyed it and I'm the proud owner of another dozen or so revolvers, pistols and rifles.
Thanks for the pictorial tutelage; I can see the difference clearly now.
