Blackhawk Parts

I purchased a '70 3 Screw .357 Blackhawk and discovered it had the Ruger fix installed. Does anyone know where I can buy the original parts to put the gun back to original?

Thanks!

ebay and GunBroker have them occasionally. Place a WTB in the classifieds here and over on the other forum.

Curious though...sounds like this was discovered after the purchase. How does one not realize this before?

Try Numrich. They usually have a exploded parts diagram followed by the parts list which will show if the part is still available and the cost.

Also, are you prepared to pay the price for these parts? They're not the typical $30 hammer you may think they are. Even after being converted back it's still marked as being converted by Ruger.

Yeah, they are kinda pricey.

It's not uncommon to see a complete "unconversion set" go for over $100, depending on model.

Don't get me wrong. I love my Ruger guns. But, Ruger can be pig-headed stubborn when it comes to this conversion issue of old 3 screw Blackhawks. I have one that was my Dad's, circa 1962. The front frame screw came out and was lost. I called to order 1 stinking 1/4 inch screw and the first words over the phone were, " has it been converted?" Being the honest fool that I am I said, "no, that I wanted to keep it original." The rep on the phone told me he couldn't sell me 1 stinking screw because I hadn't had the safety conversion done on my dad's gun. I ended up having to buy a pack of 15 screws from Brownells to have 1 stinking screw for my gun. I'm just a little tired of this idea that everyone feels like they have to look out for my safety. I'm doing just fine and if I shoot myself in the foot, its my own damn fault.

I hear ya tmorg!

If everyone felt as you do there would be no lawsuits...unfortunately...

I got SN#'s from from my friends NM's & OA's for parts ordering.

I just give them those.

And I have a converted OM if I ever need OM specific parts for another OM.

bwinters will become famous soon enough
I ran a 6 million dollar business for years and our insurance was rediculous I do not blame ruger for not working on an unconverted gun.
