Some of them are pretty darn fast.


Some are, but that's a game & they are usually shooting loads that are so light they hardly make the gun recoil. I wouldn't trust my life to loads that light. Also they just stand there & blaze away. A person should move, find cover, & get out if he can.

And that right there is why a single action is still a perfectly good self-defense option! Too many people get caught up in the idea of "spray and pray". Yes, covering fire has its place but it should not be your entire plan for SD. I know that having an overwhelming show of force does work and feels good, but the idea is merely to survive. You do not need to go from the defensive to the offensive.
