HM2 Cylinder for Ruger single six

I recently bought a Ruger single six in .17HMR. The club I belong to does not permit the firing of magnums. I picked up a HM2 cylinder and now have a convertible. If you are in the market, contact Al Story at Borchardt Rifle Co. His work is flawless and stands behind it. Great product at a great price!

I always wanted a convertible single six in 17 caliber. I wonder why Ruger quit making it. Used ones go for big bucks. Was there a issue with the HM2 splitting cases or something like that.

Jim, I haven't heard of any reasons Ruger quit making them. I know the cylinder you get from Al Story is a drop in cylinder, ready to rock. Check him out!

I do know early ammo had issues. Had some first production run Hornady that had 5 split cases and a complete case rupture. (always wear safety glasses!) had something to do with the case production/annealing if I recall correctly. Also recall something about the case design itself being an issue like many bottle-neck cartridges are in revolvers. Combine those two and, well...
