The gun is beautiful, except for the LOUSIEST set of Rosewood laminate grip panels I've ever seen!
The originals were about 1/4" thick at the heaviest part. I guess they're called "gunfighter profile", I'll call them junk. They came off immediately, & I put on a set of Pa. Hickory panels I had made up for it anyway. The grip change made it a whole different revolver. I put about 200 rounds thru it today, a mix of .22LR & .22Mag's., & I am very pleased with it now.

Congrats, Good looking Single. I put Hogues on mine the other day. It feels good shooting but I wasn't happy with the fit of them. Mine had an ugly red colored set of grips. These were back in 2004 production. I like those grips you made there.

The crappy Rosewood laminates are the ones I removed, immediately. I wouldn't have minded them, if they werent so darn thin.( About 1/2 as thick as their regular older panels.)
I need to find some more nice Hickory boards, I love Hickory wood, it's one of my personal favorites.

Nice! I too 'recently' acquired my first Single Six (6 1/2" barrel) . Enjoying it a lot. I too removed the stock grips that didn't fit well and put on a set of snug Bear Paw Grips (I really like this style). My Single Six is a pre-lock/stainless with the warning on the side of barrel... Yours sure looks slick without the warning staring you in the face! .

Heheheh...
See you edited the original post...I get it!
At first I wasn't quite sure if you were okay with the the grips? which seemed odd because I thought they looked nice.

This one doesn't have a lock either, & until you just mentioned it, I didn't even realize it didn't have the "billboard" showing !! The grip panels are what I do since I retired on dis-ability about 12 years ago. I used to advertise on this forum, but can no longer do it without paying. Problem is, I haven't been able to find out how to go about it, or the cost.
I'd really like to have a blued, fixed sight model also, some day.
