| Question about SS blackhawk
Hi all,
Today I saw a Ruger Blackhawk in SS. It was a .357, with the 4 5/8" barrel, and was brand new. Unfortunately I did not handle it as I was picking up another pair of revolvers and was in a bit of a hurry. My question is, is the trigger guard and grip frame on this model stainless steel as well, or is it just brushed aluminum? I have a blued BH (also .357) with the 6.5" bbl, and the only thing I truly dislike about it is the aluminum trigger guard/grip frame. I eventually got a Ruger Vaquero, but find that I still prefer the BH and its adjustable sights.
Oh - and they want $599 for this piece. Is that a bit high, or is Ruger putting out a special run?

The SS Blackhawks are noticeably heavier than their blued counterparts -- but then there isn't any aluminum....

Ah - thanks everyone. Yes - I figured it was steel since there wasn't a noticeable difference in appearance between the frame and the trigger guard. I like how it looks, too - very sharp with the rosewood grips compared to the blues models with their black plastic grips.

I'd say support LGS, but you can also check Bud's or other online dealers and see if your LGS can get you a similar deal. They are usually around $531 shipped, but you have to add $20-$50 for transfer fees + tax and State Police check.
To get a good idea what certain guns are selling for I look at Guns America for new and used sold from dealers all over the country.

I just picked up a Lipsey's exclusive SS flat top in 45 colt with an additional 45acp cylinder. Can't wait to shoot it.

Unless Ruger made a very recent change, the stainless Blackhawk won't have the safety lock under the grip, either. Only the blued SAs do.

I paid $564 OTD for mine. It was also a .357 SS but it had the 6.5 inch barrel on it. I love mine!
