So as I mentioned before, per factory reps, it's a "dead cartridge". Now a question...how many that just gotta have one of these have contacted a gunsmith about making them one and started the process?

Does a Freedom Arms 83 .475 Linebaugh count? Mine was finished and delivered early this year. Wow! whata gun. If Ruger were to make a .480 single action, I'd buy.

I bet Ruger would be sold out of these for a while if they ever decided to make them. |
I spoke to one of the top Ruger CS reps at the SHOT Show and was told it was never going to happen. He said that in long term testing that the guns didn't hold up to "Ruger's satisfaction". When I pointed out that many custom gunsmiths use Ruger frames to build .475 Linebaughs it didn't matter..."the guns didn't hold up to Ruger's standards".
A few days ago I received an email from Ruger asking about what I would like to see for new products...one of those I listed was a stainless Super Blackhawk 5 shot .480... I don't mind beating dead horses....

ps...and I put my money where my mouth is...just took delivery on a Freedom Arms .475 and will probably send it back to the factory to have a .480 cylinder installed as I think the .480 is a more practical cartridge because one can use some bullets that one can not in the .475...
