what are my sight options for my super blackhawk?

I have a ruger superblack hawk, a friend of mine has a longer barrled version with what he called silhouette sights, Is there anyway I can put them on my gun? I just have simple fixed sights and it doesn't seem that they could be easily changed. Is there anything I can do? Here's my gun.

zakk, Your SBH has a fully adjustable rear sight, not fixed sights. There are replacement rear sight blades .... white outline, "V" notch, and others abailable direct from Ruger or after market sources such as World's Largest Supplier of Gun Parts, Gunsmith Tools & Shooting Accessories - Brownells.

If you are interested in changing the front and if you want to go the changeable route with the front, you will have to have a weigand removable front sight base installed(soldered or screwed)

I have seen folks have a pocket milled into the sight base also to install the stainless style pin on fronts as well. It all depends on how bad you want to change...

Most folks seem to like the Bowen target rear as well.

Get yourself a copy of Hamilton Bowen' book, THE CUSTOM REVOLVER...about $40 plus shipping...get it from the master himself and have it autographed. A nice "coffee table book" with a lot of pictures and information at an easily understood level from one of the top gunsmiths in the country. His dry sense of humour is like the late Jeff Cooper.
