Single Six vs. Super Single Six?

Hey guys, other than the fixed sights on the super, are there any significant differences between these revolvers? I plan on picking one up soon, any negative feedback on either? I've never heard anything bad about either of them. Thank you, Mark

Have both, can't go wrong with either. The difference is that different brands of 22 will shoot to different points. In addition to high/low, some will actually shoot left/right. I prefer the adjustable sights of the super single six.

I like the crisp sound a single six makes when you cock the hammer.

The SSS sounds muffled and doesn't have the same feel.

I'll give the SSS the nod for better sights.

I don't see a super single six on the Ruger website. What are we talking about here?

When "Old Model" Single-Sixes were being made, the fixed sight model was a Single-Six and the adjustable sight model was a Super Single-Six. Other than the sights, these two models were identical with one exception. The really old Single-Sixes did not have a convertible cylinder and most had black hard rubber grips.

Ruger dropped the name "Super" when New Models started being made so there is no reference to them in Ruger's catalog.

Danwin22, The OM Single-Six and Super Single-Six had exactly the same internal parts and both made the distinctive 4 click sounds.

Here's my OM Super Convertible (SC-6):

Iwogen,
You have a great pair of Rugers there. I want a 6-1/2" barrel version one of these days as they seem to balance better in my hand than the 5-1/2" models I've had in the past.

The nice clicking sound came out of the older 3-screw models prior to the Transfer bar "New Model" with two pins instead of screws.

In the dark of night the crisp clicking sound of the hammer being pulled back would cause an intruder to stop dead in his tracks while the newer models just make a dull sound.

Sorry for not explaining it better in my first reply.
