No difference. Ruger's grip frame ID numbers will drive you nuts. I'm a custom grip maker and you wouldn't believe what I have to go through to find out what grip frame some customers have. It's like pulling teeth to get info out of some of them. But I don't want to waste my time or the customers by sending him something that won't fit his gun.
I don't even bother asking what's on the grip frames anymore. If you're talking about plow handle type frames, Ruger has had only three sizes for more than 50 years. They are shown in the drawing below.
There were a couple exceptions along the way such as the long frame super and the short frame XR3-RED but these were on a limited amount of guns. If you did have one, you would know what you had.
