Why doesn't Ruger make.....

A 6 1/2" barrel in anything but the .41 Magnum? The .41 in that length seems so handy, yet a decent lenght for hunting....I think I need to own one soon. BUT....why no other calibers?

Another eternal question of Ruger, I always thought of 6" or 6.5" as a good multi purpose barrel length. People use 6" revolvers for hunting, target and many were carried by LEO's over the years.

A .44 or .357 Redhawk in 6" would be about ideal! Good thing Ruger makes the .45 and .44 RH in 4", these are awesome and I want one bad!

In Ohio we cannot handgun hunt with a handgun with a barrel less than 5".

The Ruger 50th Anniversary .44 magnum has a 6˝" barrel (I have one).

Manufacturing 101 - make what the market sells best.

I too like the 6 1/2" models.

That's true. The S&W Mod 29's with the 6" or 6.5" barrels are just great guns to shoot, and they're way more accurate than I'll ever be. The SRH, I could sort of understand due to aesthetics. It needs that 7.5" barrel to keep from looking extra-funny. But the Redhawk would be beautiful (and deadly accurate) with 6" or 6.5".

Yes, the GP-100 comes with such a barrel, I know. So did the Security-Six. Time to give the RH the same treatment.

I wish they made the GP100 or similar DA in .22 lr. I bought a Taurus Tracker (6 1/2 inch bbl) as a companion to my 6 inch GP100. I would much rather have had a pari of Rugers in both calibers.
