The pawl on the hammer is not dropping back?

When it was locked hard beford, I could not turn it by pointing up. I read to try that. I can not pull past half cocked, same as before though.

Bad pawl spring?

Looking at my BH, I really can't tell much difference. Maybe a tiny bit, maybe BH it sits further in when half cocked. But so small, I can't say for sure.
The pawl plunger and spring must go in with plunger first; plunger pointed to the front of the gun.

I did spring out to grip. I did mangle it a little once. Thinking cleaning the hole the plunger is would be good.

I ordered 2 from Midway, just in case last night. I like having extras. One goes flying. I think same same as BH.

Someday when really bored, going to add order new screws and springs to have. The two in the rear of the grip,by the spring, are good, but have marks. I use hollow ground screw drivers, but they were tight. Lots of old locktite on all the screws.

A guy could just replace all the springs, and be done for 10-20 years.

My Midway order for the pawl spring came early. Doesn't fit. The diameter of the new one is smaller, won't fit on the end of the plunger.

Package says Black, Hunter, Super, ect.

So I still need pawl plunger spring, to rule that out. Though I am not sure that is it. Spring is bent, but still spring. But maybe that is enough to cause problems.

With the gun tilted up, can operate the hammer and trigger, if I turn the cylinder by hand. Very tight. This is with the stock base pin. With the belt mountain pin, to tight.

Maybe I damaged something by pulling to hard when I had a high primer? Everything looks ok, but I am going to have to open again.

Either way, gun is stuck. Can't pull hammer back. I have watched videos on sticking pin, and then firing to take tension off.

I have read about trying to put a vice grip on pin. But the belt mountain doesn't leave much room.
You driving us Beserker, and you gun remains stucker.

Any suggestions on what to do with the pawl spring? Is their a new style plunger that will fit? I may write Ruger, since it is a ruger part. I suppose you could stretch it on an awl. But I'll hold off.

It has been interesting. Learned alot about the gun this week. Also completely dissembled my 1894 this week. Used alot of data watching Utube.

Maybe need to pull the pawl and make sure it is true. It works fine until base pin is in all the way, eliminating any slop. I doubt the frame is bent where the base pin goes through. Could look at where it rests in back, but I doubt that too.

At first I thought the cylinder gap was shifting when sliding it in. Had feelers gauges out. But hard to tell, with something so tight.
