The other leg goes under the latch to hold it up thru the frame.

One on top of the latch, one wrapped aroun back forward into frame. Cocks fine without cylinder.

I am an idiot. The cylinder pin has a cut out so it can closer to barrel.

Does the latch drop when the hammer begins to cock?

If not, hammer can't cock with cyl in place.

Shouldn't the pin be locked with cut up on cylinder and other cutout for locking pin? Maybe I have not paying attention and wiggling slide. Maybe the whole problem all along.

Also the latch is tight now. The screw was about all the way out.

As soon as I slide it in, it still gets out of alighnment though.

I am ok with cylinder pin half way in. As soon as it goes all the way, locks up.

Yes it drops. The item that sticks up, above trigger, that I put the spring on.

Rotates fine until cylinder pin is pushed in last 3/8". Then locks up.

With it half cocked. Slide cylinder in. Rotates fine. Push cylinder pin in most of the wa, and still rotates fine. Push it the last 3/8 of inch and locks up. Still in half cock.

With cylinder out, and pin in, rotates fine. Took out the pin that hold cyliner to pin, didn't make a difference.

Same problem with belt mountain pin, it is just harder to get out. So I am using stock.

Point it up, can turn it hard. Point it down locks up.

The pawl on the hammer is not dropping back?

When it was locked hard beford, I could not turn it by pointing up. I read to try that. I can not pull past half cocked, same as before though.

Bad pawl spring?

Looking at my BH, I really can't tell much difference. Maybe a tiny bit, maybe BH it sits further in when half cocked. But so small, I can't say for sure.

I don't know if this will help but a while back I disassembled one of my old model Blackhawks and when I reassembled it I could not get it past half cock.

It turned out that I had inserted the hammer strut 180 degrees out of whack and when I turned it around everything worked just fine! It kinda fits into the slot in the back of the hammer both ways but only works one way!

Just a thought......

Sure could be, first time. But it operates just fine, cocking and shooting, until pin all the way in.

Easy to turn the strut. I was worried about that. Looked a video. Easy for it to twist when putting in too. I think I got it though.
