Williams shooters supply exclusive 45lc/acp

Does anyone know if Ruger ever offered a Williams shooters supply exclusive stainless blackhawk 45lc/acp convertible with the plow handle and 5.5" barrel? I know they offer a Bisley model. I came across a guy selling what appears to be a stainless blackhawk 45lc/acp convertible plow handle with a 5.5" barrel, one cylinder is fluted and one is rollmarked but I can't tell from the pics what the markings are. I requested more pics and the model number and asked the seller if it started out as a Bisley, waiting on a reply

I know Lipseys offers the medium frame flattops...i have blued and stainless ones in 357/9mm. This particular gun I found for sale isn't a flattop. The closest thing I've found is the Williams shooters supply exclusive Bisley. I seem to remember seeing a plow handle model as well but I can't find anything online about it. I'm looking to buy a 45lc/acp convertible and I'm trying to figure out if what this guy is selling is a factory configuration or if it was a Bisley and somebody swapped grip frames.

Ok, makes sense. I have an old model 45 convertible I'm thinking of shortening the barrel on. I may let Bowen work their magic on it.

I took a couple of stainless .45 Colt NMBH with 7 1/2" barrels and sent them to the factory to get a 5 1/2" barrel and a .45 ACP cylinder. I then had the .45 ACP cylinder modified to take .45 AR. Works great.

Get the serial number and call Ruger. They will be able to give you the model number, date it was sold, etc. It can be helpful to at least know how it started life.

Got back in touch with the seller and it indeed started out as a Williams shooters supply exclusive model #0472 with a Bisley grip frame. He didn't like it so he swapped it for a plow handle.

I decided to buy it, waiting on it to arrive. But I have been wondering something though. Being this gun shipped from the factory as a Bisley but now wears a plow handle grip frame, if I ever send it back to Ruger for anything are they going to send it back with a Bisley grip frame? If so, are they going to keep the plow handle frame or send it back ?

If this really concerns you then go to the source and call Ruger CS and ask them. Swapping grip frames doesn't affect the safety or designed function of the gun so I don't think they would insist on swapping out grip frames in your case but only Ruger can say for sure.

sr9 newbie will become famous soon enough
If it helps any, I had Ruger "replace" and Lcr22 and I told them I wanted the Hogue tamer grip and F/O sight I put on it back. They sent them no questions asked. I got to keep the original set also. Ron
