...with the newly installed XR3-RED grip frame and wood grip panels.

The felt recoil and overall handling/accuracy for me was much better than the XR3 grip frame that came on it but less better than the Hogue rubber ducky.

She rolled-up nicely under recoil and that little extra space behind the trigger guard helped with the bashed knuckle syndrome but did not completely abolish it.

The ammo fired was:

HSM Cowboy Action .44 magnum 200 grain lead RNFP
Muzzle Velocity: 975 fps
Muzzle Energy: 422 ft. lbs.

Winchester Razorback XT .44 magnum 225 grain lead free Beveled Profile Hollow Point
Muzzle Velocity: 1250 fps
Muzzle Energy: 780 ft. lbs

Magtech .44 magnum 240 grain FMJ
Muzzle Velocity: 1180 fps
Muzzle Energy: 741 ft. lbs.

I haven't gotten around to shooting any 300 grainers yet...

Thanks for the report. I put a Super Blackhawk grip frame on my 59 flattop, but haven't shot it yet. Currently out getting Grashorn stags fitted.
