If I remember your list, one down and six to go. Get busy, good looking start.

Thanks fellas.

I forgot to mention that the magnum extra cylinder is in the red felt bag inside the white box. No rust - all is good.

Unfortunately, there is no factory gun box or papers with this nice firearm.

I'd really like the next one to be the .357.

Barrel length is really unimportant.

Nice find. I just saw this 9.5" barrel version, no safety conversion, listed for sale locally, & I'm tempted, how did you determine the value of yours?

Any Ruger SS colector needs the 9 1/2"er and the OM is hard to find. I shoot mine often.

He's asking $860 which seems on the very high end to me. I've just looked at the pictures and it does seem in excellent shape but I was thinking $650-$700 was more in line, thoughts? Even at that, I haven't decided I would buy it yet, I just bought my first SS convertible yesterday, but I'm sorely tempted.

Sorry Hoss, I didn't mean to hijack your thread, I won't post anymore on this here.

Don't think Hoss will mind since this could be one more item for the shopping cart. His gotta have list is way too short anyway.
Whew, at $860 the guy sounds like a GunBroker regular seller. That's $450+ over what I paid for my '67' OM 95% long tom early last spring. This past Fall I did have to buy a stainless mag cyl for it. Love the duo-tone look as well plus no question as to ammo needed.

I have a question: is it more desirable from a collectors perspective to have one that has not had the transfer bar installed? I don't see anything in valuation tools that would indicate the gun is more valuable if the safety modification has not been performed, but I would be interested in the perspective of guys that are actually collecting them.

From a safety perspective, I like having the transfer bar and being able to load 6.

Yes, those of us who love Old Models typically buy them for that Old Model Action and do prefer to have them not converted, though ones that have been converted, but still with the original parts are also good. From a sales standpoint, these will be easier to sell than a converted models, no original parts and will otherwise bring a higher price. Doesn't make a converted model a bad buy if you find one in otherwise good shape at a decent price, but a rule of thumb with buying or selling vintage guns is that factory original is preferable.
