This is a discussion on Red Felt Bags within the Ruger Single Action forums, part of the Pistol & Revolver Forum category; Does Ruger still sell these? Does anybody? Not sure when/why they stopped including them with convertible models. Thanks...

If you're unable to control high humidity, the bags are good for attracting moisture. I bought a used single six where the bag had to be sanded off the rusted spare cylinder.

I've been using the little Crown Royal bags for carrying the spare cylinder. The aren't red, but the size is perfect. Plus I got a little bonus shot of whiskey.

I still have my original bag for my 1963 single six. It is some worse for wear.

I think they stopped the felt bags when they went from cardboard to plastic cases. I purchased a 1998 convertible with the lockable plastic case used and it had the cylinder in a recess in inside.

I removed the red bag with the draw string from a old style hand-warmer, almost identical to what Ruger used.....they still make the hand-warmers even though I think it's considered an old style.

I have a couple of OM Blackhawks that I went to the trouble and expense to obtain original boxes and manuals for. Bubble wrap just doesn't seem appropriate.
