Congratulations! I'm happy for you, and also happy for me (I just bought a 1957 Single Six and have been having buyer's remorse).

pghrich, That George Lawrence holster and belt rig is about as good as it gets. They are about the best quality leather products you can find and went out of business in the mid-80's. I have a similar rig for my Super Blackhawk.

Nice Single-Six too, enjoy it!!!

Very nice gun & outfit!
Bought my SS new in 1959 - it still locks up tight even after thousands of rounds through the tube. All the finish is worn off the grip frame though:

thank you all for your kind comments, actually my gun had the plastic grips on it originally, sometime in 1962 they cracked and a letter was sent to ruger[which i have ] and ruger sent a reply back [which i also have] giving the instructions on how to order new wood ones[which are presently on the gun now] in addition a set of fancy walnut blanks came in the box also, i finished them myself and occationally the single six wears them,i shoot my single six all the time and yes it does have a wonderful feel to it. nothing like the feel of those 4 clicks, rich pyle

Now there is a revolver that has seen a lot of use but is still in very nice condition!

This is my 59 single six, belonged to a former girlfriends brother, borrowed 35 years ago, girl and I broke up, never got the gun returned. He and I stayed friends, saw each other a few times a year. Sometimes he even asked about it, but never asked to have it back. last year I asked him if I could pay him for it, "I guess" he say's, "how about $75, sound good?" well shucks, I guess, says me. I gave him a check for $125. He looks at it kinda funny like, I said the extra is for 35 years rent. He laughs, says OK. Oh, he is the #2 Sheriff Deputy of our county all these years.

Hope you kept those old, cracked grips. If not too bad, they might be repairable and used in "show and tell" situations.
