My Super Blackhawk

I went looking for a new revolver, wasn't sure what I wanted but a SA Ruger was at the top of my list. At the dealer it came down to a .45LC/ACP convertible, and a SBH 5.5". I have dies for .44 and .45ACP not .45LC, the convertible would have to go for a reaming. The SBH had much better bluing and fit, very nice lumber, and felt better in my hand. Plus I have a Marlin 1894 in .44. So here's what I got. Just a little tweaking and it's a keeper.

Very happy with this revolver.

That knife is very special...it's a Schrade Uncle Henry Golden Spike, a Christmas present from my mother in 1975.
Here's a pic with a couple other treasures, both older than I know. A Marbles and a Case...

I love the old stuff!

The Super is gorgeous. That's the very model I'm toying with buying. I wish they still put those wood grips on all the Blackhawks. I got some from the Ruger website, but they don't fit that well.

You ought to go back and get the convertible. They're great. I have yet to ream the .45 Auto cylinder (it really needs it), but it still shoots one ragged hole with jacketed bullets. Lead is a little messier. I already had the .45 Auto dies but had to buy .45 Colt. Really glad I did though, because .45 Colt has been a lot of fun to tinker with.

That is a beautiful SBH. I just fondled a new one Thursday when I picked up my new NR-9L. I would have bought it but it was just too expensive when you factor in the divorce!
