So, Ruger is dropping standard Blackhawk hammers in New Vaqueros and making it a "limited edition"

Great, this happens right after I just put a standard 4 5/8" .357 Vaquero on layaway with the High Horn hammer and ordered a BH hammer to drop into it lol

Maybe Ruger is starting to realize that people hate the High Horn hammer.....

Noooo...TALO simply contracted Ruger to produce something different. Different hammer and some different grips.

Yes, a big improvement in the view of many.

The Flat Top Blackhawk mid frame hammer Ruger uses on the Talo also has the larger base diameter and narrower shank improvement of the long horn hammer so it doesn't stick out from the recoil shield so far.

Narrow shank/large base on left side (not just Lipsey's any longer):

Having all the SA I could conceivably want, I'd just like to have the grips and make a mold from them

mag318 is on a distinguished road
My LGS ordered one for me today in 38/357 caliber, I'll post pictures when I get it. The New Vaquero hammers though comfortable, never looked quite right to me. This short spur hammer corrects that's IMO.

When my 4 5/8" .357 Vaquero arrives I'll make my own, with a BH hammer I already have.
