Bisley 0818

A guy at work has a Bisley 3.75 Lipsey's he is looking to sell. It's 90+% condition. He wants 650.00 for it. I can't find any market values online for this? Are they still being made and is this a fair price? I would like to have it but don't know what to offer him.

That would make a good carry gun for me. I'd look at it seriously if it were me and I needed one. I carry a 5 1/2 inch 45 colt vaquaro now. Hate to pay asking price though. Good luck which ever way you go.

Be more important to think what it's worth to YOU not necessarily what everyone else thinks it's worth. With that though, looking on GunBroker's completed auctions (completed show what the market is actually having them sell at rather than what they're being hoped to sell at) it seems $650 isn't exactly a bad price but I'd think closer to $625 be more reasonable seeing some are going brand new for a bit over $650. Not a biggie as it's unlikely there's any issues with it and no wear/marks were mentioned. In the end, it should be more about it's value to you though and not just about the dollars and cents.

I would buy it in a heartbeat, but I am really looking for one and have one on order at the moment.

When it comes in to my LGS I expect to pay $675 - $700 for it new.

It is a Lipsey exclusive model. Ruger makes things in batches, and it seems like they most recently did a run of these last summer. It's not a super big seller, so who knows when they will run them again (soon I hope !).

So, not a super price. I was offered a 0817, the plow grip version lightly used in excellent condition (less than 50 rounds through it) for $600 by a friend who didn't really want to sell his. Like I said, I am holding out for the Bisley grip 0818.

I do see them NIB on GB occasionally, and they are always over priced at like $800 buy it now.

Last year some time I paid $710 otd for a plow handle 0817 at my lgs. A couple months later I foolishly traded it at a gunshow for a nos case color baby vaquero in .32 h&r mag. The guy wanted a full $550 for it and I just had to have that .32 so I gave him the .44 and $100 for it. And as luck would have it the .32 couldn't hit a barn with any ammo I put through it so it got traded as well....I regret parting with both of those.

I think I will offer him 600.00 but not going to loose it over 50.00. I think it will make a great carry gun for me here in MT. I will post pics as soon as I can

Thanks !

I paid $670.00 new for my Talo edition last fall. The Lipsey's are harder to find though so his asking price might be worth it. I did change my grips to Altamont because I wanted more 'grip" as I shoot some hot reloads.

I agree. Life's too short to miss out on a nice pistol for the sake of $50. If you're willing and able to spend $600 I suspect another $50 won't keep food from your table.

Glad to hear one went to a good home. I am still looking, though other irons in the fire at the moment with a gunsmith project. I have seen a few pop up on stun broker lately for $650 ish the last couple weeks which is about killing me.
