Another .41 fan. I have a few in .41 but it surely helps if you like reloading and bullet casting. I have a SW model 58, Redhawk, Blackhawk and a Bisley.

If I was not into reloading I'd not even consider one. I live in a smallish town and never see .41 on the shelfs of any local stores. For reloaders, it's a different world and now Starline is marketing .41 Special brass for those that might want lighter loads in more easily recognized brass.

Use to carry a Blackhawk .41 magnum in a IWB holster. Sold it about 6 years ago. Barrel was 4 + inches, carried nice.

I just need to familiarize myself with what I need as a basic start-up kit (I know ZERO about reloading ) for the simple stuff necessary in order to start cranking out some of the more expensive revolver rounds like .41 & .44 Magnums.

If anyone is willing, toss out some suggestions, tips & advice --- it will all be welcome & GREATLY appreciated.
I started on a progressive, then bought a used RCBS JR3 for $50 for resizing but now I reload for my 500 on it as well. After a glass of wine on a Friday night I bid on an un used Lee Turret 4 station... This would be a good starting point for a new reloader... But I load my 41 on a Hornady LNL .. plenty of brands on my bench

Bought my 6-1/2" four-digit gun in 1967, my first centerfire gun. It and a LEE Loader taught me the basics of reloading and shooting a serious chambering. Still have it, still works just fine. I later picked up a 4-5/8" gun to keep it company. I like 'em.

I bought a new 6 1/2" barreled BH about a year ago, built some grips for it and am trying out a peep sight on it (not in pic), don't know if I'll leave on or not. Had a SS 5 1/2" Redhawk for about 30 years that got stolen, really miss it.

The only 41 Magnum die I know of that will crimp 41 Special is the Hornady. I bought that die alone, preferring other choices for the rest and for actual magnum cases.

Bought a 7-1/2" redhawk in 1989 for shooting silhouette. Currently have a 4.6" Blackhawk. Would never be without a .41

My first 41 was a New Model Blackhawk with 4 5/8" barrel in 2005.
The 210 gr factory loads shot well, but it really liked the 240 gr Platinum Tip load from Winchester. In a weak moment, I sold it and he will not sell it back.

Over the past couple of years, I have lucky enough to find and purchase a S&W Model 57 with a 6" barrel, an original 1984 Marlin, and a replacement in the New Model Blackhawk!

I was lucky enough to also find 20 boxes of the Platinum Tip load and grabbed them all when I saw them. I see a local store has them again, but the price has jumped over $20/box. I have also been able to find 3 boxes of Hornady's new 190 FTX load, and am waiting for more, as well as their new 210 XTP load. Also picked up some of the HSM Bear Loads and Cowboy loads with 230 gr and 210 gr cast loads to try too.

Looking to find a mould for the 240 or 265 gr Keith style bullets, so that I can cast my own. Anyone tried these? Or know where I can find the moulds?

Thanks,
Gil
