Get one--fun little shooter. I've got two, a 4-5/8" and a 6-1/2" but neither is as pretty as Flash's brassie!!

A dandy little round in a dandy little gun. I can't keep mine away from my 10 year old.

I would buy one of those in a Heartbeat! Would it be a 327 Single Six or a Blackhawk?

The 327 is too much pressure for the SS but would be nice in a Blackhawk. The 32-20 case in the Carbine Blackhawk already fills that bill for me. I'd like to see a 327 GP-100 myself.

That's pretty slick with the Bisley hammer and the ivories! Wish mine was like that, but alas it's just a standard issue five-and-a-half incher. Shoots very good, though.

Best regards, BIGBOOMER

I have seen custom Single-Sixes in 327. It involves making a new, longer cylinder and shortening the barrel extension. Makes a nice little gun, much lighter than a Blackhawk, but spendier that I can afford. Well, maybe someday.....

You mean forcing cone? I guess it's physically possible but again, the 327 has pressure akin to the 357 Mag and I personally wouldn't want to shoot a Single Six in 327. There are too many good or better cartridges already chambered in a single action without making something marginally safe.

Flash, I suspect you would have about the same margin of safety as a K-frame .357. There is a little room in the cylinder window to slightly increase the diameter of the cylinder. I suspect Ruger won't want to do it because of the changes required. It would be a handy little gun in that caliber, however.

The barrel extension is that part of the barrel in which the forcing cone is cut.

Best regards, BIGBOOMER

Flash, if you are interested in seeing what the possibilities are for a Single-Six in 327 cal., go to Gunblast.com and look in the archives for a 11/30/08 column by Jeff Quinn where he reviews and tests a couple of Custom Single-Sixes in 327 by Hamilton Bowen. Jeff mentions that the new cylinders are a tenth of an inch longer but does not mention the diameter. However, by looking at the pictures and then looking at my factory Single-Six 32, I can see that he did in fact increase the cylinder diameter somewhat.

Both of these sixguns are truly works of art (who would expect less from Bowen), but unfortunatly the ticket is way beyond my means!

Best regards, BIGBOOMER
