New SBH Hammers on my Blackhawks

Did the Super Blackhawk Hammer mod on two of my Blackhawks, a 1980-vintage .41 Magnum NM, which also got a Wolff 30-oz trigger spring and new Altamont grips. It's like a whole new gun.

I also added one to my .357 Mag Convertible, and ordered new trigger springs and grips for it. The SBH hammer makes these just like a whole different gun. Being able to thumb back the hammer w/o shifting grip will make these much more useful in the bush here.

And ordered more hammers and springs for my other BHs. Can't believe I didn't do this mod before....

A great, simple change and a more and more common mod thx to the forums. I've done many since my 1st experiment on an old model 357.

A little more involved to miniaturize them for the single six.

New model single sixes are easier using the small frame Bisley hammers and triggers.

The NM SBH hammers fit the grip frame ears on the pre 1997 NMs before the ears were made larger.

I, for one, find just the opposite to be my preference ~ prefer the standard Blackhawk hammer on my Suprer Blackhawks:

Bob,

For certain applications like on field guns and New Vaqueros for use in Cowboy Action shooting, I too, find the standard hammer faster to cock for repeat shots using the recoil induced natural roll up of the plow handle grip to assist in re-cocking. I only prefer the SBH for target shooting.

I swapped out the SBH style from my .45 Montado and installed and original Vaquero hammer.
