Lipsey .45

About two years ago I bought a New Model Blackhawk that had been especially made for distribution by Lipsey's. It is stainless, 4 5/8 barrel with both .45 colt and ACP cylinders. Due to their special order it came with fake ivory grips. Love the gun but do not like the grips anymore. Through shopruger.com I bought a Hogue rubber grip that I thought would fit but it doesn't. I'm told by Ruger that this special run of guns has a Blackhawk frame on a Vaquero grip. They left me with the impression that there may not be any other grip I can buy. Anyone out there that has any suggestions or knows anyone who has this same gun who has tried to purchase replacement grips for it?

Going on memory here... Thinking it's a KNVB-44X. Would be a medium frame flattop Blackhawk. If it's has the NM Vaquero grip frame you simply buy grips for that particular grip frame - widely available but unsure about them being available in rubber baby bumpers - sacrilegious for a nice SA.

The NM Vaquero has the XR3 grip frame which is like the old 1950s early 1960s grip frame. Grips that fit an XR3 -should- fit that, but grips made for the XR3-RED grip frame will not fit it.

^^ This. ^^

Here's the exact same model with a set of stags (and a high polish finish) that I'll be listing in the classified's later this morning.
