I just purchased a Ruger Super Blackhawk Tomahawk #164 from a guy here in Washington, Mo. The only thing I can find when doing research on this is the Tomahawk with RCA for Ruger collector assn on the side. The value of these seems pretty high. Does the Tomahawk without RCA command the same kind of prices, it seems they are the same ,other than the RCA? The folks at magnaport say that there were 200 Tomahawks made, but they had another run for RCA guns.
packingheat, According to RENE, there were 200 Tomahawks made in 1977. 90 of those were marked for RCA. That means you have a pretty scarce model with only 110 non-marked Tomahawks.
Like any other special run Ruger, value is based on condition and completeness. If the gun is NIB with all the goodies, it should bring a nice premium. If it has been fired or is missing any of the factory stuff ... basically it's just another SBH with a modest added value for the Mag-Na-Port.
I didn't get the box with it, it is in great shape. The trigger is one of the best I have ever felt. I will be a good shooter. Thanks for all of your help.
