Wellsir, that is indeed good news. Somewhere, Skeeter is smiling.

Trend Micro anti virus is saying it locked a trojan file when I go to that link. Anyone else have that problem?

I ordered one on Monday. Lipsey's stated it would be early to mid Febuary. Thats fine with me, I've waited this long for Ruger, I can wait a few more weeks.

Leighton: Are you a FFL holder? The reason I ask is Lipsey's won't tell me anything since I am not a FFL holder. I ordered one in mid-December. My dealer told him that it would be January. None of this is consistant with what I have heard elsewhere. Supposedly they are going to get 4 batches of 250 of each barrel length and they will be shipped quarterly. Since I ordered pretty late in the game, I am wondering what quarter I'll be in. I have a feeling Lipsey's is telling everyone the same thing and I don't believe what they are saying. If I'm not going to get mine until December, I like to know. Thanks.

No I'm not an FFL holder, I was there when my dealer spoke to them on the phone. Lipsey's has distribution offices all over the US, the one my dealer uses is in La.

My .44 was ordered around Christmas and my Dealer said late January when he spoke to Lipsey's. It sounds like they bumped it back a little since then. That might give me a little more time to decide what I will replace the "Cheese grater grips", with. I read some where that Skeeter had Dall Sheep grips on his, which sounds REALLY nice but I have been thinking along the lines of either Holly or some nice claro walnut.

Anyone know how many they will make? I would sure think these would become a regular catalog item?

Mr. Quinn of Gunblast.com announced the following around 11/17 or 11/18 (paraphrased from different posts on another board) "that Lipsey's has the exclusive for at least the first year. They will be available in 4 5/8" and 5 1/2". Both built on the .357 50th anniv. flattop frame. Lipsey's commited to buy 2000 of the revolvers. 250 of each length, each quarter of 2009". I don't know Mr. Quinn, but I have faith in what he has been kind enough to share.

Apparently he sat on this knowledge of the Lipsye's exclusive for some time because he had given his word not to let people know till Lipsey's announced it.

reports are that delivery will begin in late Jan/early Feb. I have seen one photo of the 4 5/8" 44 special that was taken during the Shot Show.

That's about all I know on them.

BTW, I placed my order for one of each barrel length early that morning (11/17 or 11/18). I haven't asked my Dealer about delivery, but each time I go in his store, he keeps telling me "Those guns should be here pretty soon". I don't know if he knows something or if he's trying to "comfort me" that they are on their way.

This announcement came just a tad late for me as I had already sent a .357 50th anniv off in august for a 44 special conversion along w/ some other changes. I'm expecting delivery of the custom to be near the end of this year. I don't know which I'm looking more forward to.. the custom or the two Rugers. Probably the custom as it will be exactly what i want.
