Swapped for the SS Red Label...brought it home, cleaned it, and took it to the "Clays" range with some friends.
Swings well, busted clays nicely for all three of us. The only thing we noticed as a "negative" is that we all agreed recoil...even with light loads...seemed a bit excessive but...this could be a function of that particular synthetic stock design...
Anyway...she's gonna be a keeper. Might try to change the pad, though, if I can find another that'll fit. Overall...one nice SG!!!
Jody Johnson, I use a Kick-Eze pad on my RL. I'm on blood thinners so its dangerous for me to take a pounding to any part of my body. I have never had a problem. I don't even notice the recoil. That's my 2 cents.

Thanx for the comments, guys! I'm definitely going to try it on waterfowl this fall! And, that SS just looks sharp!
Tony, thanks, and I'll see if I can find that pad for the synthetic stock...
I'll post a range report after I get to hunt with it...
Pattern it out with the shot you plan to use and shoot a few rounds of skeet beforehand with some lead loads to get used to it. My red label isn't stainless but it shoots right where I look. Good luck.
I think Red Labels are beautiful shotguns for the money. I have an early Red Label that my father gave me because he also says the recoil was too much. With light target loads, it does not bother me. I can shoot those all day. But getting up to waterfowl and hunting loads, I would not want to shoot several boxes in one session.
Congrats on your new RL.
