I've read up on those...I would be interested in getting one myself! Nice and simple 12 GA without many moving parts!

18.5" barrel and no receiver length like a bolt, pump or auto! Sounds short to me and easy to handle. Only two shots though.

Personally I think it's hideous. I just am one that sees all this "tactical" stuff and quite silly on most applications. Paint it black add a clothesline, errr pick-a-tinny rail, and taadaa - its "tactical". :roll eyes: Like the Mossburg "tactical lever gun, it's taken a rather nice classic style and completely destroyed it. Just my opinion.

I can understand why people are turned away by the whole tacticool idea. it does get overblown sometimes . but with the wide selection of standardized sights and optics available today that sight rail is damned appealing to trifocaled eyes. afterall you can't hit what you can't see.

I tend to agree with ya but then again, this thing has an odd appeal to it.
Something very basic about it kinda like a hammer or baseball bat. A very simple tool but I could still do without the tommy tactical rails.

I have a Maverick 88 "Security". It's ok, you get what you pay for...or in this case don't pay for. It's "almost" a Mossberg 500 (my Security model that is).
IMO that O/U "tactical" jobbie is 100% inspired by Call of Duty. There's a "tactical" Winchester 1887 in that game. Complete with rails and all. If it's mainly for fun, go for it. I for one wouldn't refuse to shoot it. Not something I would personally spend money on though.

| The Maverick was a great buy when Academy was running them for $129 with a free locking aluminum double gun case (reg $69 IIRC). Now with them selling for $199 there is no way in HADES I'd touch one ....considering I have several Remington 870s and haven't paid over $185 for any of them. , |

Only two shots though. | If you've ever watched the video on the comparison between an 870 and an O/U shotgun...in the long run, with a competent loader, the O/U gets more shots off than the 870 because the 870 takes so long to reload after you've emptied the tubular magazine! The O/U just cruises through the reload cycle.
