Stoeger is a wholly owned subsidiary of Benelli, which in turn is owned by Italian firearms manufacturer Beretta. I don't know anything about that model bit it has a good pedegree.

Leave alone. Get a 870 Remington express or a Benelli nova and be GLAD.

I've got a friend that has one and he absolutely loves it. It has the same Inertia Driven system as Benelli, but with a lower price tag. I don't think you could go wrong with the Stoeger, especilly with the lower price. It's about the best deal you'll find on a quality semi-auto shotgun.

Look through the used inventory at your local gun shops. I've come across some nice guns for reasonable prices. Remington 1100s for $375-400 Browning autos from $400 in good condition.

I've only held Stoeger O/U shotguns, but they didn't feel very good on my shoulder. From what I've heard they're decent guns though. The last one I looked at was made in Brazil which looked very well made.

I've also heard Baikal (Russian) 12 ga autos are pretty good for the money.

bbqbob51 is an unknown quantity at this point
Everyone I've known that own a Stoeger have liked them. They are reasonably priced and decent quality which use technology from proven guns from their parent company/companies.

I picked up a stoeger coach gun today at a gun show.... All I can say is 'brutal'.... whether shot from hip or shoulder.... At least with the 3" Turkey shells I bought to test it with today.... Well I know it works both barrels..... But going to look for a 'fun' load.... Not that I will shoot a lot of shotgun as SA six-shooters are what I like best, but.... Might be time to look to handloading some hulls too as 20 shots for $13 seems expensive.... Of course if you can only shoot 6 or so per session ... not to bad .

The one I have has been excellent. Stop counting rounds after 500. Still going strong.
It's been very dependable.

Guns'n Ammo TV used one in their Torture Test segment. Loaded 20ga shells infront of 12ga shell in a Stoeger 12ga. They were quite surprised when it didn't blow up as they expected. They also made a comment about 'so much for a low priced' shotgun.

They also used a Stoeger Cougar in another Torture Test and tried to over heat it then check accuracy... worked just fine, again to their surprise.

I have a Stoeger Cougar in .40 and have had ZERO problems. Can't say that about my Para and SA pistols.

who in their right mind would publicly do such a thing to prove a point? as stupid as americans are, someone would go and do it to show his friends how strong his gun is.

oh, i see, guns and ammo!

For a great shotgun at an affordable price be sure to check out CZ.

I've handled a pump 12 from Stoeger and it just felt too plasticy. It felt loose and sloppy to me, but maybe it was a lemon or just a personal preference. Bottom line, get a Mossberg 500 or 590, or a Remington 870 and have fun with it. After all, that's what the police use.
