Padded Recoil Shooting Vest

I recently hurt my shooting shoulder. Everytime I shoot, the shoulder hurts. 20 ga Red Dot has a recoil pad, but I need a padded vest. Any ideas?

My Father in law had a Leather Sholder Pad made . It goes on similar to a Pistol hoslter seems to work very well. Im sure there has to be something similar to this is the mass production market.

Check Cabela's, Bob Allen, and Wild Hare. A "www" search will get you to either of these web sites. I shoot skeet and sporting clays and have used products from each of these manufacturers. Pick the one you like best and you will be happy with any of them. In the vest description it will say if the vest comes with a pad pocket on the shoulder. Some do and some don't. You usually have to buy the pad seperately.

There are many good alternatives. I find a shooting vest restricts movement too much, and thus lowers my score (it's a good scapegoat, but it's also true). The best thing to do is put on a limbsaver recoil pad.

You might look at "Kick Ease" on the web.

Homebrew solution. Used the desired size and thickness of some packing foam (choose your density with care). I sewed it in to a fabric scrap enclosure leaving enough fabric at one edge so that I could then sew it to the inside of my favorite shooting shirt in the proper location; which here in the desert is a very thin quick dry long sleeve which would offer zero recoil padding by itself. It does take a little work and practice to get it in the right place; but now I have a couple friends that want me to make them one.

Spike12 will become famous soon enough
There is a line of vests and matching recoil pads that go into a special pocket on the vest for just that problem. I'm getting boney and use blood thiners so a day with my M1A produces spectacular results...

It's a Browning product. Check this out...

Browning Reactar Shooting Pad

Hope it helps...

I got into a Jeep accident (roll over) several years ago & messed up my shoulder pretty bad! Had surgery, but they left some bone fragments in there.

Long story, short. I had pretty much given up on shooting 12ga, & was considering giving up trap. Then a good friend had me try a recoil reducing pad made by "past". I can wear it under my shirt & it makes all the difference in the world. I can shoot over a hundred rounds in an afternoon & feel great the next day. I ordered my own from midway for about $30. I highly recommend this pad!
