Any Weatherby Shotgun Owners

Lately I have been looking at either a 20 or 28 guage semi auto from Weatherby. I can not find a single stocking dealer anywhere to give them a look see.

The idea of an inertia drive shotgun seems like a good idea, but not a priority. So are their any Weatherby owners out here who can share their opinions with the product and if they ever had to contact customer service.

Weatherby usually turns out a good product no matter if its a shotgun or rifle.

Weatherby doesn't make shotguns, they just brand and market shotguns produced by other companies. I have heard good things about their SA-08 gas-operated shotguns, but have not seen them in use. They are made in Turkey.

I have two Weatherby shotguns in 20 gauge for home defense. One pump and one semi-auto.

I put extended mag tubes on both and so far they've been reliable with buck and slugs. I did contact customer service as when I removed the pump trigger assembly while cleaning, a spring came off and I could not figure out how to put it back. They promptly sent me a photo that solved my problem.

Here's the pump:

Thanks all for the input. Here in May I probably spring for a SA-08 in 28 guage.
No LGS stocks them. So its Buds or Gallery of guns. Buds is cheaper, but GoGs has their Davidsons repair or replace thing that sounds like extra insurance, even if Weatherby probably will fix issues.

I have a CZ SxS in 28 guage and its great, so it needs a auto feeder for a friend. Then
I need to get a MEC loader in 28 guage too.

The fun never ends.

The older ( like at least 15 years) Weatherby shotguns were manufactured by SKB; top quality stuff. But more recently who knows-Hungary ? Turkey ? Probably not bad, but nothing compared to SKB.

I have an SKB as well and my buddy has an Uplander version of Weatherby semi auto. That is a nice shotgun, and Turkey is a great place for shotguns as well. Buy the one you want and enjoy it, you wont be sad you did.
