Trouble w/ "Woodside" model Red Label

I haven't shot this weapon all that much, less than 350 rounds all low base factory loads.
Problem is more often than not it will only fire the top barrel no matter where the selector switch is set. Also, to make things even more confusing, is it will "snap" thru both barrels with snap caps over and over with no problems but, fire a live round and Bingo, the trigger is locked. It actually feels like the safety is "On" yet the switch is still in the fire position. FWIW, the action opens okay, the safety works normally
and I am not on any cold meds or otherwise.... ;>P....................
Any one else have a similar problem?
I would sure appreciate some help!

Ruger8 - yours is the second I've heard of that does this with the first belonging to a friend who acquired one not long after introduction. Obviously, there is something wrong in the action that is not allowing the trigger to reset after firing the first round. My friend took his to a local smith who suggested returning to Ruger, which he did and it was repaired under full warranty.

The Red Label lockwork is relatively simple but if you've not been into a boxlock action before, I recommend you call Ruger and see what their product service folks have to say. You didn't say if it was new when purchased but even if not, they will fix it. If it was new, they will likely cover shipping both ways as well as the repair.

I bought a new Red Label 28 ga. about 9 years ago. After firing a couple of boxes at hand-thrown clays it started doubling. Shipped it back to Ruger. Hopefully it's fixed - haven't shot it much lately (lack of opportunity to shoot, not lack of faith in the gun).

Let Ruger do it ... my opinion.
