Question Screw in choke markings

I have both 20 and a 12 ga. Red Labels and both of them are a little old, but not as old as the first guns with no removable chokes in the barrels. They both have stainless receivers. The screw in chokes for the 20 are not blued and are marked on the sides as to what they are as in modified, full, etc. The chokes for the 12 are blued, but not marked other than having notches on the front edge. I dug up my old owner's manual, but it does not tell what the markings are for some strange reason. As far as I remember, the tubes with no notches are skeet, the one notch is improved cylinder, the one with 2 nothes is modified, and the one with three notches is full. Do I have that right? Does anyone know where I can find a reference published by RUGER that tells what the chokes are so I don't have to rely upon my now fading memory? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

You do have it right. For confirmation, go to page 18 of the old owner's manual on the Ruger site: http://www.ruger-firearms.com/produc...-OverUnder.pdf or look at the parts list in the same manual. Your memory is not so bad after all!

If you forget the notches, a dime works pretty good. A dime will not fully enter a full choke. It will just fit in a modified and will fit loose in IC or skeet.
