There doesn't seem to be much info out there. Are you happy with the Kit Fox kit? How would you rate the quality in regards to fit and finish? Is there really a gap between the 1300 receiver and the Kit Fox? Thanks in advance.
I'm very happy with the Kit Fox Stock adapter. Really nice fit. Here's the latest evolution of this shot gun, Ace M4 Socom short stock, FNH ported barrel and trigger assembly added, with Yankee Hill Flip up sights.

Plenty of room to add an optic sight if I choose. I no longer see the need for a flashlight, it adds weight and if you turn it on it will just give away your position. I now call it a Winchester 1300 Defender TPS (Tactical Punisher Shotgun)

Here's the latest evolution of this shot gun, The Kit Fox Rifle stock was to long for me. So I removed it along with the heavy buffer. Then replaced it with an Ace M4 Socom short stock that has a nice soft butt pad (for good recoil absorption), Fab ARG43 grip was replaced with the ATI Talon grip that has the scorpion recoil back strap (also for better recoil absorption), FNH ported barrel and trigger assembly added, with Yankee Hill Flip up BUIS sights. Also added an inexpensive, but rugged, red/green 4 MOA circle dot optic.

Thanks ifithitu: It has been about 5 years in the making. It took 4 yrs. alone to finely find someone that had an FN TPS trigger assembly for sale. With OOB or 1oz rifled slugs. Believe me when I say, if it hits you, it's all over for you.

Some of the shotguns pictured in this thread appear absurd to me. They look more suited to a full-time war/combat environment than a home/self defense purpose. Their appearance could be detrimental in a court case against the owner of such a gun. Can you imagine an attorney holding up one of these 'combat' shotguns in a courtroom for all to see?

EDIT: Well... better to be judged by 12... than carried by 6.

Whoa! Ban a great gun because of its looks? Good grief... this is a gun message board... and a dang fine one, at that. You start banning rifles because they look mean... then you start on shotguns... what else is next... mean-lookin' pocket knives? Hammers? Huh? If "looks" can kill... then my 10th Grade Teacher would have been convicted of Capital Murder, on a daily basis. If I am going to protect my woman and kids... I don't care what the gun looks like. I want it to stop my attacker(s)! Is that NOT the point?...
I mentioned nothing about 'gun banning'. But I will say that 'mall ninja' and 'tacticool' have taken over from common sense in many areas. Certain graphics and features on a home defense gun can be used against you by LE and a prosecutor. I favor simple, effective, and discrete when it comes to guns.

It 'is' reality now in this country that the staunch anti-gun forces will use anything against us to gain another toehold. I prefer to be traditional and conservative in my firearms tastes and not attract their attention.

Quite often, I see that being 'extravagant' with doo-dads can be detrimental to good function and reliability. Example: the dude with the new, high-dollar, jacked-up, huge-tires, and chrome shocks 4x4 rig barely makes it off the pavement only to break something or get deeply stuck. Then the guy in the near-stock 50 year-old Jeep cruises on through for miles with nary an issue.

Mossberg 590(SP) with Magpul furniture. For two reasons. I needed to adjust my LOP in to 13.5" (from the stock 14.5") and I also wanted to mount a light. The bayonette is an OKC 3S, the latest one used by the Marines. You do not want to be stuck by this thing. It is razor sharp, not only on the true edge, but also the false edge. The light is a Streamlight Pro Tac HL. 600 lumens. I have a huge backyard and this lights it all up.

8 shells in the magazine -- the first 2 are #4 buck and the next 6 are 00 buck. I do not keep it chambered. My thinking on this is that there is no more terrible sound in the world than a shotgun being racked. If a perp is near by, he soon will be high-tailing it for the hills.

Youth model Remington 870 express full of 2 3/4" #3 buck. It's short and real handy. Fits my wife so she's comfortable with it too.
