12 ga. Stoeger Coach side by side with internal hammers. Nice short barrel with good hard woodstock. Shoots with authority and yet quite smooth.

Remington 870. It's not real close either, imo.

I've often been asked if you could own 1 firearm what would it be. The answer is the the most reliable pump shotgun in existence and that's the Rem 870. I know there's a lot of love for the Mossberg 500 and I understand why. I just lean to the 870.

I've got a 870 and it's a good shotgun. But before I pick it up, I would grab my BPS. It just has a better feel.

BUT!!! None of these compare to the quality and reliability of a Browning A-5. The old humpback will last for decades and never quit. I've seen the magazine tube with holes worn in them from so many rounds, but the shotgun kept right on cycling out the lead.

Just my $0.02.

For skeet or birds, my Beretta Silver Pidgeon Over Under. For self/home defense, Mossberg 500 or Remington 870.

Toss up...

1. Browning "Sweet 16" that my dad bought in 1963 & passed to me and me to my son.
2. Old "Savage" double barrel 12 Gauge that my Great Grand father had above fireplace.
3. My SAIGA 12 that I currently own. Love 10 rnd magazine. Don't have the 20rnd drum, yet.
