Odd Red label question.

Hey guys. So I was cleaning my Red Label tonight (it's the newer model with floating barrels) and while I was cleaning I found a substance between the barrels at the base-end (opposite the muzzle; you have to remove the forend and take the barrel off the receiver to see it ). I can't tell what it is, but almost looks like rust or old grease. I've only shot 95 rounds through this gun, and am fairly neurotic about cleaning it. Anyone know what I am talking about, and what it might be? I feel that my only option to get to it is using compressed air...I would need something as small as a needle to be able to get at it. Thanks in advance!

Would a nylon bristle brush and a cleaner of your choice work?

Actually no that would not work, the bristles can't get into the space. I bought a bottle of compressed air that I'm going to try. I'm trying to understand what the substance is. It's not an area that fowling would get into normally, and it looks like rust.

They do put a dab of grease in there on the hinge point. Could that be it?

Will a pipe cleaner fit thru the area? If so I'd try some solvent and follow with gun oil.
